CADWorx User Conference 2008

kubit has shown its software solutions PointCloud and TachyCAD at the CADWorx Users Conference. Both programs guarantee an optimized as-built documentation of industrial plants. These information can be edited (and processed) in CADWorx later on.

New: TachyCAD 6

The English Version 6.0 of the total-station-based-survey
software TachyCAD is now available.

Innovations and improvements:

Compatibility with AutoCAD 2009 and AutoCAD LT 2009,
New innovative functionality for the management of areas or archaeological features within the modules building survey and archaeology – recording of non-geometrical data and export to databases,
New commands for construction planes,
Extension of the command for measuring rectangles,
Revised commands for orientation,
More configurable Layers,
Options for the way of numbering observation points,
Improved windows and settings for an optimised workflow.

New: PointCloud 4 and PointCloud Pro 4

PointCloud (Pro) 4 is coming up with a number of functions, which facilitate and speed up the processing and evaluation of point clouds of laser scanners in AutoCAD.

Multiple point clouds can be edited and worked with at once.
Besides clash detection PointCloud Pro allows for fitting polylines, cylinders (pipes) or planes to defined sections of point clouds.
Intersecting of planes is easy and results in accurate object edges and corners.
It is possible to define sections along AutoCAD curves.
Align an AutoCAD UCS with adjusted planes or point cloud sections.

Functionality to imply photos (provided by the scanner) into the processing speeds up the workflow and increases the precision of the evaluation. Lines drawn on these images are directly taken over into the point cloud and there are displayed as lines in geometrically correct positional arrangement.
Inside the oriented photos (which usually have a much better resolution than the point clouds) corners, edges and lines can be determined much easier und more accurately. Drawing with PointCloud supports the perspective mode of AutoCAD.

New: PhoToPlan 4

PhoToPlan enables the true to scale rectification of digital or digitalized photos and plans within AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT and all programs based on the above like Architecture Map and Civil 3D. The software developed by the kubit GmbH will be available as version 4.2 starting May 2008.

When reference values will be measured at the object, a multi-purpose image plan may be generated from digital photos. This plan enables the easy tap of square and linear measures and may be overwritten with a 3D plan directly within the CAD program.

PhoToPlan is entirely compatible to AutoCAD 2009, AutoCAD 2009 LT and Vista. Version 4.2 is available in German, English and French.
